Skjoldblad withdraws from Southern North Sea II offshore wind competition

Skjoldblad communicated to the MPE that it will not be participating in the upcoming competition for acreage for the development of offshore wind in Southern North Sea II (Sørlige Nordsjø II).

Skjoldblad has carried out an extensive assessment of the opportunity and has concluded that with the current market conditions it would not be participating in the upcoming auction in February 2024 and therefore did not think it appropriate to submit a prequalification application.

This decision does not affect the consortium’s approach to future competitions for offshore wind in Norway, including Utsira Nord. Skjoldblad strongly believes that offshore wind will be an important part of Norwegian industry going forward and our ambition to play a central role in this is unaltered.

We appreciate the opportunity to cooperate with the Norwegian authorities, organizations, industry, supply chain and other stakeholders in the context of SNII. We look forward to continue this collaboration in Utsira Nord.
